Organising a Barn Dance

It's not difficult to organise a barn dance and here are a few things you will need to consider:

Venue:
The best layout is for a dance area in the centre of the hall with seating and tables around the outside or at the back, plus a stage or area for the band.

Times:
We usually play for approximately three hours (typically 8.00-11.00) but this is flexible.

Catering Arrangements:
Dancers (and the band) will need a break during the evening and this often includes food.  It’s helpful to know if the band is included in your arrangements.

Raffle:
If it’s a fund raising event a raffle often goes down well.

Special Requests:
We usually open the second half with a fiddle tune but if you’d like a demonstration of an English Morris Jig or a couple of tunes on the banjo this can easily be arranged. Just let us know in advance.
